WHO ARE WE? We’re a small up-scale thrift shop. We may be small, BUT our QUALITY is outstanding!
WHOM DO WE BENEFIT? Fern Lodge, a non-profit nursing facility in Castro Valley.
WHAT MAKES US “SPECIAL”?
1. We were recently rated on Yelp as the TOP small thrift shop in the Bay Area!
2. Customers constantly tell us we’re the friendliest, most helpful thrift shop.
3. If a mechanical item you buy is found defective, you have 48 hours in which to return it for your money back—imagine, money back from a thrift shop!
4. We never knowingly put out any clothes that have missing buttons, broken zippers, etc.…unless they are ultra-special even with a small flaw.
5. We offer Frequent Buyer Cards with 25% off the 10th purchase.
WHO RUNS US? We’re a happy, harmonious group.…all volunteers. Nobody on our staff gets paid, not even management, so all profits go to our beneficiary.
HOW OLD ARE WE? We’ve been serving the community in the same location for 20 years …great track record for a shop that some said would last only 6 months!
WHAT DO WE SELL? Clothes, shoes, fashion accessories, collectibles, jewelry, books, dishes, linens, pictures and frames, knick-knacks, small furniture…..well, you get the idea!
WHAT SERVICES DO WE PROVIDE? Delivery of very large items; holds on merchandise [with no obligation] for 2 full days; layaways with 20% down and 30 days to pay balance.
HOW ABOUT EVERYDAY DISCOUNTS AND SALES? We have 5 colors of price tags: blue, green, yellow, purple and pink. These colors rotate in order–like a merry-go-round. At all times 2 colors are full price BUT 3 colors are on sale: one color 25% off; another color 50% off; and the 3rd color 75% off. On the 1st and 16th of each month [except June and December] the colors rotate, each color price tag reducing down to the next lower discount. Our regular customers LOVE this! They know exactly when the item they have their eye on will go on sale and for how much!
HOW ABOUT SPECIAL SALES? EVERYTHING in the whole store is 50% off during our semi-annual clearance sales!!! Mark your calendars: first two weeks in March and in September. The choice is best at the start, so come early!
WOULD WE BE HAPPY TO HAVE YOUR DONATIONS? You betchum! But they need to be clean, in good working order, and have all the parts/pieces. We gladly accept donations at any time the shop is open, and gladly give receipts for your charitable contribution which you can use in figuring your income tax returns.
