Fern Lodge is dedicated to continuing high-quality education for Christian Science nurses. On-site mentoring is a high priority, and we are committed to a regular series of workshops. While our full-time classroom program is currently suspended, we still offer some on-site classes through a guest educator. Two such classes were held in 2024 (Levels 1 and 4). A Level 3 class will be taught in August and September 2025. We are planning a Level 1 class on site in 2026.

We are currently focused on expanding collaboration in education. In 2024, we began collaborating with Tenacre, with four of our students attending classes there (Levels 2 and 3). Mentoring is primarily held here at Fern Lodge, but some mentoring takes place at Tenacre, in home settings, at other facilities, or at Christian Science camps. In this way, our students are exposed to a variety of settings and educational styles. For example, recent camp mentoring was provided by a Le Verger instructor. We are also engaging with the Broadview and Glenmont education programs and are consulting with Twelveacres on modules on care for special needs.

In addition to mentoring our own employees, we occasionally mentor students from other facilities. For example, in late 2024 and early 2025, we welcomed three Tenacre students who chose to be mentored at our facility, and in summer 2025, we will mentor a Broadview student. In some unique cases, we offer mentoring at our facility for Christian Science nursing students who work primarily in home settings.
