  • 1270. Exempt institutions

“The provisions of this chapter do not apply to the following institutions:

(a) Any facility conducted by and for the adherents of any well-recognized church or religious denomination for the purpose of providing facilities for the care or treatment of the sick who depend upon prayer or spiritual means for healing in the practice of the religion of that church or denomination.”

  • 1505. Facilities exempt from licensing requirements

“This chapter do not apply to any of the following:

    1. Exemptions from California Retail Food Code

Child day care facilities, community care facilities, residential care facilities for the chronically ill, and residential care facilities for the elderly shall not be deemed to be FOOD facilities, and, therefore, shall be exempt from this part.
